Hyperhydrosis is abnormally excessive sweating that is not associated with heat or exercise.
In Brief:
It can affect the hands feet underarms and face and is usually on both sides of the body.
Primary Hyperhydrosis is caused when the nerves responsible for signalling your sweat glands become over active for no apparent reason . There is no medical cause and it is common for stress or nervousness to make matters worse.
Secondary Hyperhydrosis is related to medical conditions such as diabetes thyroid disease and some cancers and requires investigation.
