White Heads and Milia

Milia are white to yellowish, hard, raised cysts that develop under the outermost layer of skin.

In Brief:

They can look like a grain of sand are generally small, around 1 to 2 mm’s in diameter and feel very hard. While milia can occur anywhere, they are most common around the eyes and on the cheeks, nose, and forehead. They are not painful or harmful but are irritating and can be unsightly.
